If you like the funny side of Dragon Ball, you're going to love Dr.Slump. Both are created by Akira Toriyama-san, but in my opinion Dr.Slump is way funnier and "gentler". It is the wackiest and most irreverent anime show I've seen, pack-filled with subtle and not-so-subtle original humor. To get an idea of the insane world of Dr.slump, imagine a place where "Birds cry 'aho' (idiot); Godzilla, Ultraman, and Gamera are all students in school (Mr. Spock is a transfer student in one story); elephants fly backwards through the air with flames shooting from their trunks; and wind-up animals announce the beginning of each new day. The abnormal is normal here, and normal people are rare..." (excerpted from Curtis Hoffmann's Dr.Slump Guide) Simply put, Dr.Slump is a gag anime/manga classic not to be missed.
